The ends of many of the roof beams were damaged by wet rot and have been strengthened as a temporary measure with steel supports. Much of the ceiling is also suffering from damp, indicating the urgency of the repairs needed to the roof. Damp has also caused a considerable part of the mosaic stone cladding on the upper part of the wall, between the beams, to come loose. |
