As on the internal walls, the mosaic stone cladding, a very unusual feature of Kirkandrews Church, has suffered erosion and discolouration by damp. There have also previously been inappropriate repairs using cement. 

The frame of the door is weak and needs to be replaced with a new frame which matches the door. The door itself needs repairs to parts of the woodwork and ironmongery.
