The lychgate of Kirkandrews Church. Lychgates
are not a common feature of Scottish churches. This one, complete with
mock portcullis, seems to have been a particular flight of fancy on the
part of James Brown. Note the stone benches on either side of the lychgate.
The happy couple are Capt Colin Brown, the youngest great-grandson of James Brown of Knockbrex, and Lin Erleigh, on their wedding day, 9th August 1997. |
